Chai Tea Porridge

Foggy morning had us craving something warm. So we blended two of our favorites Chai Tea and creamy rice cereal. We were all out of Bob’s Red Mill Creamy Rice Farina~ so we blended sprouted brown rice in our Magic Bullet, and made our own steel cut rice!

Worked perfectly!

    • 1/3 C cream rice farina or 1/3 C rice that’s been steel cut in the “bullet”
    • 2/3 C Chai~ Pre-made tea, strong
    • Cinnamon
    • Dates, chopped
    • Hazelnut Milk or Almond Milk

    1. Bring Chai tea to a boil in a small pot.
    2. Slowly whisk in the rice.
    3. Cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes. Stirring a couple of times.
    4. Once it begins to thicken, you may add chopped dates at this point, or wait and use them to top with cinnamon.
    5. Turn flame off and let sit  covered 5-8 minutes. It’s SO Yummy!

For a creamier texture use 1/2 Chai and 1/2 hazelnut milk or pour the milk over hot porridge.
